Community Involvement Reward: Toys For Tots

At Home One Home Improvement Services, we take great pride not only in providing superior services to our clients, but also in supporting the community where we live and work.

When it comes to helping children and the less fortunate, our team’s dedication shines even stronger, and for the past 10 years in a row, we have been participating in the Toys For Tots program as a designated “Toy Drop-Off” location during the holiday season.

Toys For Tots is the U.S. Marine Corps sponsored program that, ever since 1947, has been distributing toys in time for Christmas to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts.

We just received an award from the organizers of the campaign in the form of a plaque, recognizing us for our support and participation in this past year’s event.

In the letter that accompanied the award, the Chairman of the Lancaster County Detachment Marine Corps League shared that Toys For Tots Program was a huge success and expressed appreciation and gratitude to our team. Together, we helped make last Christmas a little brighter for 12,415 children in need throughout Lancaster County. We are so thrilled to know that more than 50,000 toys were collected, plus a ton of books, tapes, and stocking stuffers!

Serving the community gives us a sense of accomplishment in a very rewarding way, and we are proud that our employees also volunteer for such a gratifying cause. Home One team contributes to Toys For Tots program by providing support with the collection and distribution of the toys at their warehouse, and we also help the families select the toys for their kids and have the gifts wrapped, and help them with transporting the gifts to their vehicles.

It is serving, giving back and knowing we make a difference that make us even more dedicated and humbled to be a part of the community that shares the same values.
