Memorial Golf Outing on Oct. 7 to Support Lancaster County Youth Amateur Hockey League

LEBANON, PA – Home One Home Improvement Services invites the public to join in the second annual Chad Neiss II Memorial Golf Outing on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at Iron Valley Golf Club, 201 Iron Valley Drive, Lebanon. The event will benefit the Lancaster County Youth Amateur Hockey League, with ten percent of the proceeds being specifically allocated to the Chad Neiss II Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Chad “Bomber” Neiss II played ice hockey with the Lancaster Firebirds at the Lancaster Ice Rink from 1999 to 2013. His loved ones describe him as a caring person who would go out of his way to help anyone. Tragically, he lost his battle with addiction in 2020. The scholarship fund was established in honor and memory of Chad Neiss II, to provide assistance to children in need so that they can play youth hockey – the game Chad loved so much – with the Lancaster Firebirds.

“From the day we founded the company, Home One Services has been a family-oriented company,” stated Home One Services co-owner Tom Brubaker. “When my business partner, Chad, lost his son back in 2020, we were all devastated. When Chad and his wife, Dana, made the decision to take their tragic loss and turn it into a positive, philanthropic scholarship fund, we were behind it 100%.”

“Hockey is how Chad Sr. and I met in the first place, and I would go as far to say that if it wasn’t for hockey, there probably would have never been Home One,” Brubaker shared. “The Chad Neiss II Memorial Scholarship Fund provides a terrific opportunity for children who otherwise may not be able to afford to play hockey to experience the game Chad II loved so much.”

In its inaugural year, the Chad Neiss II Memorial Golf Outing raised an incredible amount of money to support the Lancaster ice hockey community at large. “It was so successful and sold out so quickly last year that it was decided to do a double shotgun event this year,” noted Brubaker. “We are honored to be sponsoring the event again this year and look forward to another terrific event this October.”

Interested players may register to compete individually or with a foursome at https://www.planmygolfevent.com/cgi/page.cgi?_id=376591. The event will include a double shotgun 4-person scramble, with receptions following morning and afternoon rounds of golf. The morning start will be at 7 a.m. with lunch and an awards presentation at 11:30 a.m. The afternoon start is set for 1 p.m. with dinner and an awards presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Participants may indicate a time preference when registering; however, the Golf Outing Committee will have the final decision on assigned start times.

Non-golfers are welcome to register to attend and enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, or all three meals. Sponsorship opportunities for the event are also available for anyone who would like to be involved in supporting the Lancaster County Youth Amateur Hockey League (LCYAHL), and more details on those can be found at https://www.planmygolfevent.com/cgi/page.cgi?_id=376594. Interested individuals may also contact LCYAHL board member Josh Burke at 908-938-0479 or Josh@BurkeNetworks.com.
